New Director appointment to fill vacancy in the Board (CREPA)

Nomination for Board of Director of CREPA for the term 2012-2014
A candidate for the position of Director on the Board of Chinese Real Estate Professionals Association of BC ("CREPA") must be a Full Member with at least six (6) months of membership, and be nominated and seconded separately by any Full Member, Associate or Affiliate Members on this form and must be by filed with the Board no later than May 15, 2011.
Candidates wishing to sit on the Board of Directors must commit himself/herself to attend Board meetings on monthly basis (currently Board meeting takes place on the third Thursday of each month) and not to miss the meetings for more than 5 times in a year.
Each Director elected will serve on the Board for a term of two years and cannot serve for more than two consecutive terms. Director can be appointed by the Board only if vacancy occurs between two elections.

加拿大擬退回30萬移民申請
加拿大政府最新發布的2012年預算案中，計劃退回30萬份技術移民申請，以解決積壓的嚴重移民申請問題。
預算案中計劃撥款1.3億加元，作為退還給2008年2月27日之前的所有技術移民申請費。如果這些人還希望移民加拿大，就需重新遞交移民申請。
加拿大聯邦移民及公民部長康尼表示，目前加拿大積壓46萬名技術移民申請，其中有30萬份申請是在2008年2月27日之前遞交。在這些申請中，28萬份完全沒有受理的申請將肯定會被退回，另外兩萬份申請雖然已經開始受理，但根據進度不同，一些剛開始處理的申請也會被退回。
康尼指出，該措施將有效處理加拿大的移民積壓問題。預計實行后的幾年內，新的申請人在遞交材料的當年就能得到結果。
康尼又指出，被退材料的申請人還能重新申請。在整肅之後的移民系統下，他們只要符合新的移民標準，無須數年的等待，可以迅速來加拿大。
目前的移民系統，無論對申請個人還是加拿大都不公平。申請人需要等待近10年才有可能得到移民身分，來到加拿大後，其技術水平可能已經無法和年輕時相比，難以符合加拿大的需求。
